Child Safety Standards
Questeryng is a social app for adults (18 and over) to meet people nearby and do things together. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM). These standards apply to everything on Questeryng: profiles, photos, chats, activities, side quests, groups and event albums.
What is prohibited
Using Questeryng in any way that sexualizes, exploits or endangers a minor (anyone under 18) is prohibited. This includes, for example:
- Creating, uploading, sharing, requesting or linking to child sexual abuse material, including drawn, AI-generated or edited images.
- Grooming: building a relationship with a minor, or with someone you believe is a minor, in order to sexually abuse or exploit them, online or in person.
- Sexual or romantic messages to or about a minor, and sexualized comments about minors.
- Sextortion: threatening or pressuring anyone to share sexual images of a minor, or using such images to coerce someone.
- Trafficking or arranging to meet a minor for sexual purposes, and advertising or soliciting sexual services involving minors.
- Minors using Questeryng at all, and adults helping a minor to join or pretending to be a minor.
How we keep minors off Questeryng
- 18+ only. Everyone must enter a birth date showing they are at least 18 when they sign up. It can't be changed afterwards, and the age shown on profiles is calculated by our servers, not typed in.
- Photo verification. Dating mode is only open to adults whose live selfie has been checked by a person on our team against their profile photos, including that they are clearly an adult.
- Underage reports. Anyone who appears to be under 18 can be reported with the "Underage" reason. Accounts confirmed to belong to a minor are removed.
How we detect and act on CSAE
- Automatic checks. Uploaded photos (profile, chat and event photos) are checked with Google Cloud Vision SafeSearch, and explicit images are removed automatically. Text in reports, profiles, posts and first messages to strangers is checked with Google Cloud Natural Language plus our own patterns. Sexual content that mentions minors is hidden immediately and sent to a moderator.
- Human review. Our moderators review flagged and reported content.
- Removal and bans. CSAE content is removed and the accounts involved are banned permanently: they are disabled, hidden from everyone and can no longer sign in.
- Reporting to authorities. When we become aware of apparent CSAM, we report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) through its CyberTipline, as US law requires (18 U.S.C. § 2258A), and preserve the relevant information as the law requires. We cooperate with law enforcement and respond to valid legal requests. Where a child may be in immediate danger, we contact law enforcement directly.
How to report
- In the app: open the profile, chat message, activity, side quest or event photo and tap Report. For a person who seems to be under 18, choose Underage. For anything sexual involving a minor, choose the closest reason (for example "Sexual content" or "Safety concern") and add details. You can also block the person straight away. Reports are confidential: the reported person is never told who reported them.
- By email: write to contact@mechitall.com with "Child safety" in the subject. Please don't attach the images themselves; describe where they are (profile name, chat or activity), and we will find them.
- Directly to authorities: you can always report to Cybertip.ca (in Canada) or the NCMEC CyberTipline (report.cybertip.org, 1-800-843-5678). If a child is in immediate danger, call 911.
Compliance
MechItAll LLC complies with applicable child safety laws, including US federal law on reporting child sexual abuse material. We review these standards regularly and update them as our app and the law change.
